Nov 09, 2012 (newstodate): Finnair has adjusted its route net and reduced its freighter program, resulting in a decrease in ATK and capacity.
In October 2012, Finnair Cargo lifted a total of 12,816 tonnes of cargo, down by 3.8 percent, y-o-y, due to the shortfall in freighter traffic where loads dropped by 30 percent to 2,553 tonnes, while loads on passenger flights increased by six percent to 10,253 tonnes.
The Asian traffic, 7,579 tonnes, increased by 10 percent, y-o-y, while North Atlantic volumes dropped five percent to 629 tonnes.
European tonnages also dropped 3.5 percent to 1,860 tonnes.
Thanks to the adjustment of routes and flights the over-all load factor increased by 2.5 percentage-points to 70.8, unchanged on the Asian network and up 1.2 on the North Atlantic flights.
