Oct 05, 2012 (newstodate): Plans for establishing a new airline in Lithuania are again hitting the agenda.
The prime mover behind the project Air Lituanica, the mayor of Vilnius, has presented his visions once again while presenting few concrete details.
As earlier announced, plans are to launch flights in Spring 2013, with routes from the airports of Vilnius, Kaunas and Palanga to destinations including Amsterdam, Brussels, Kiev, London, and Moscow.
From 2014, Air Lituanica will expand the route net with flights to Stockholm, Munich, Berlin, St Petersburg, Hamburg and Tbilisi, adding flights to Istanbul from 2015.
The carrier will supposedly build a fleet of Embraer aircraft, but no details on this and other issues are currently not available.
49 percent of stake will reportedly be held by a "strategic investor".
