Oct 17, 2012 (newstodate): In September 2012, a total of 474 tonnes of cargo was handled at Lithuania's Vilnius Airport.
This was a cautious increase by 4.6 percent, y-o-y.
Totals included 384 tonnes of cargo, and 90 tonnes of mail.
In January-September 2012, the airport has thus handled 4,270 tonnes of cargo, unchanged against 2011.
During the same period, passenger volumes at the airport increased by 30 percent, and aircraft movements were up by nine percent. But the bulk of the traffic is carried on regional aircraft and by low-cost carriers offering limited or no cargo capacity.
