Oct 05, 2012 (newstodate): ULS Logistics has found new ways of boosting its business for ex-China airfreight transited in Estonia and destined for the Russian market.
To bypass the queues at the Estonian/Russian border that may often require days of waiting, ULS Logistics has set up cargo ship to transport its trucks from Silport, Estonia, to Ust-Luga, near St Petersburg in Russia.
-This voyage with up to 42 trucks takes only three hours at sea, and the trucks are then processed by the Russian Customs at the seaport and sent off towards their destinations with only short notice and reducing the total lead-times significantly, says a spokesman for ULS Logistics Estonia.
-Our freighter traffic from Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen Airport to Tallinn Airport is now running high again, with about 40 flights per month, and the acquisition of the cargo ship is of course manifesting our strong determination to consolidate and even expand our business here, he says.
