Oct 02, 2012 (newstodate): The Russian cargo carrier Atran has contracted the British company Airline Services Components Limited to provide power-by-the-hour support for its Boeing 737-400F aircraft.
Under the three-year contract, ASC will support Atran with a home-base kit located at their hub in Cologne, Germany, in addition to an extensive stock holding at the ASC main base in London Gatwick.
Atran took delivery of its first Boeing 737-400F in August 2012, a second aircraft will join in October 2012, and a third Boeing 737-400F will follow in Q1, 2013.
Atran was acquired by Russia's Volga-Dnepr Group in October 2011 as an element in V-D's strategy to add express airfreight deliveries to its product portfolio.
With Atran'S cargo aircraft, Volga-Dnepr will provide flights from Moscow Domodedovo Airport to Leipzig and Luxembourg for onward distribution of express shipments carried on its network.
