Oct 16, 2012 (newstodate): Romania has opened a tender for redeveloping Iasi International Airport.
The tender calls for bids on the construction of a 2,400m runway including all pertinent infrastructure including lighting systems etc.
The airport currently operates one 1,800m CAT-II certified runway offering limited capacity, and handled only 184,000 passengers in 2011.
The new runway is to become operational from 2015.
