Oct 04, 2012 (newstodate): UK-national Lloyd Paxton is returning to the civil aviation of Central Asia.
Mr Paxton has been appointed as new CEO of the Tajik carrier Somon Air, replacing Alisher Rustamov who is to take up a new management position with Dushanbe International Airport.
In his new office, Mr Paxton will be supported by five other expatriate directors who are yet to be appointed.
Lloyd Paxton earlier served as President of Kazakhstan's Air Astana from May, 2002, until October 2005, and was awarded the Kazakhstan Honour, Order of the Kermut, as well as a second medal from the Kazakhstan Civil Aviation Committee previously bestowed at only 23 occasions in recognition of his success in building and securing a leading position for this carrier.
