Oct 30, 2012 (newstodate): The Swedish IATA airfreight market dropped by 21.5 percent in September 2012, to 8,199 tonnes.
And while the preceding months' statistics were influenced by extraordinary one-off export loads of metallurgical products, September's statistics again allow for a realistic year-on-year comparison.
Among the IATA carrier, SAS Cargo and Lufthansa Cargo topped the list in September with 1,265 and 983 tonnes, respectively.
SAS Cargo, however, dropped 21.3 percent, while Lufthansa Cargo increased its export volumes by 24.8 percent, y-o-y, and emerged as the only Top-10 IATA carrier to increase volumes in September 2012, compared to last year.
Finnair Cargo, KLM Cargo and Emirates came next, down 24.9, 45.1 and 27 percent, respectively.
Among Sweden's IATA freight forwarders, only one emerged with growth in September - Agility, No 7 on the list and up 33.6 percent, y-o-y, to 271 tonnes.
Topping the list was DHL Global Forwarding, down 8.9 percent to 2,456 tonnes, followed by Geodis Wilson, down 20.3 percent to 1,736 tonnes, and Kuehne & Nagel, down 2.4 percent to 681 tonnes.
Schenker fared the worst with a drop by 55 percent to 419 tonnes in September.
