Oct 31, 2012 (newstodate): Slovenia's Maribor Edvard Rusjan Airport has been put up for sale.
A new tender has been opened for sale of the airport, following an earlier attempt in 2010 for a 30-year lease contract covering the entire airport infrastructure and the takeover of the management of the Maribor Edvard Rusjan Airport, but no bids were on the table.
Close to the country's second-largest city, Maribor in the north-east of Slovenia, Maribor Edvard Rusjan Airport is the country's second-largest airport - but devoid of scheduled services.
In 2007, Ryanair operated flights between London and Maribor - but pulled out again after seven months of service.
