Oct 29, 2012 (newstodate): Poland's Warsaw Chopin Airport saw its cargo volumes slightly up during the first nine months of 2012.
A total of 32,000 tonnes of cargo was handled at the airport, an increase by 1.6 percent, y-o-y.
In September 2012 alone, the airport handled 4,000 tonnes of cargo, up 7,7 percent, y-o-y, including 2,300 tonnes of imports and 1,700 tonnes of exports.
In January-September 2012, the most popular cargo destinations were Leipzig with 5,300 tonnes, Cologne 4,700 tonnes, Chicago 2,500 tonnes, New York 2,100 tonnes, and Chengdu with 2,100 tonnes.
The biggest cargo carriers were LOT Polish Airlines with 10,700 tonnes, UPS Airlines 7,900 tonnes, European Air Transport 5,200 tonnes, Sprint Air 1,400 tonnes, and Air Contractors with 1,400 tonnes.
