Oct 04, 2012 (newstodate): A new versatile turboprop aircraft may soon hit the marketplace: the Czech Evektor EV-55 Outback.
With first flight on June 24, 2011, the twin-engined aircraft is designed to carry up to 14 passengers or alternatively 1.8 tonnes of cargo and can be delivered in pure pax, pure cargo, or a combi version.
The Outback, developed to world aviation standards, can operate from rough and unpaved airfields and at high altitude landing strips.
The Czech manufacturer has now signed an agreement with a Russian partner for transfer of technology, and plans are to start manufacturing of the Outback in Russia.
The new aircraft has already landed an order for 29 aircraft by a Russian operator, based at Krasnoyarsk.
