Oct 01, 2012 (newstodate): Lithuania's Siauliai Airport and the country's National Freight Forwarders Association have signed a cooperation agreement.
The agreement, inked on September 27, 2012, calls for the two parties to work together to enhance the knowledge of Siauliai Airport in industrial circles in Europe, Central Asia and among Far Eastern countries, lifting its potentials for attracting new operators and partners abroad.
The membership of Lithuania's National Freight Forwarders Association comprises some 40 companies and organizations within the country's forwarding and logistics providers and service businesses.
With a 3,500 m runway, Siauliai Airport is fully capable of handling any kind of freighter operations without any weight penalty.
A master plan, worked out by a Dutch consultant, is to be published this month, detailing visions for development of airfreight business at Siauliai Airport.
