Oct 29, 2012 (newstodate): Icelandair has added a third Boeing 767-300ER to its fleet.
As is the case with the other two Boeing 767 aircraft, the new aircraft will also not be operated on Icelandair's own network, but instead on leasing contract with other carriers.
Thus the two first aircraft fly for Air Niugini on a long-term contract, and this carrier also acquired one of four Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft originally ordered by Iceland.
The new Boeing 767 will operate for the Venezuelan carrier SBA Airlines on routes between Caracas and Miami.
