Oct 12, 2012 (newstodate): Finland's aviation authority Finavia reports clear growth figures for air cargo in Finland in 2012.
During January-September 2012, a total of 152,041 tonnes of cargo mail was handled at Finavia's airports, notably Helsinki Vantaa Airport.
This was an increase by 11.2 percent, y-o-y.
The growth was especially driven by a 12.4 percent increase in international cargo, to 140,706 tonnes, while international mail volumes were down 14.4 percent, y-o-y, to 6,024 tonnes.
In September, Finavia airport handled a total of 16,504 tones of cargo and mail, up five percent, including 15,564 tonnes of international cargo that increased by 9.7 percent, y-o-y.
