Jan 05, 2012 (newstodate): The world's largest aircraft, Russia's AN-225 Mriya freighter is making its first commercial call in Sweden.
The aircraft is flying in today and will depart again from Stockholm Arlanda Airport on Friday, January 6, 2012.
The mission is to lift 107 tonnes of shipments for a Swedish industrial exporting company to Seoul Incheon, South Korea.
Behind the operation is Agility Logistics, and representing Antonov Airlines in Sweden is Kales Airline Services.
Antonov Airlines is the only operator of the giant aircraft that has actually landed in Sweden once before, albeit only for a technical fuel stop on a flight between Asia and USA.
On June 11, 2011, the AN-225 made its first Scandinavian call ever in Denmark, carrying large wind turbine blades from Tianjin, China, to Denmark's Skrydstrup Airport.
