Jan 04, 2012 (newstodate): The Swedish carrier Fly Logic, based at Malmo Sturup Airport, is rethinking its business strategy.
The carrier is currently operating a fleet comprising three PA-31 passenger aircraft and one Metroliner in cargo version.
-We are finding it increasingly difficult to obtain piston engine fuel at airports, and the market for passenger transport with aircraft this size is also becoming very difficult, says Willy Liljeheden, Fly Logic owner and CEO.
-We have therefore decided to put the three PA-31 aircraft up for sale, knowing very well that it may take up to one or two years before this can be completed - it is not exactly a booming market, and the potential new owner will of course face the same situation with fueling.
-Instead, we will focus on the cargo business and plans are to take in one more Metroliner freighter in the first place, considering next further acquisitions if there is sufficient demand in the market.
-We are currently serving Amapola with night flight operations for Post Sweden, TNT is another contract and we are also very active in the ad-hoc cargo market.
-We have strong competitors in this segment as well, but we consider our experience in technical maintenance of the aircraft type at own premises a major competitive advantage, says Mr Liljeheden.
