Jan 12, 2012 (newstodate): The group of investors behind the Swedish ACMI carrier TOR Air is working hard to secure the resumption of flight operations by March 2012.
-So far, work on the financial reconstruction of TOR Air is progressing positively, the AOC is still valid, so provided everything finally falls into place we should be in the air again within only a few months, says Torbjorn Winsell, TOR Air CEO.
-By then we now expect to be operating only two aircraft, against three before the loss of the Operating License. Which aircraft type has still to be decided, says Mr Winsell.
In December 2011, the Swedish aviation authority Transportstyrelsen revoked TOR Air's Operating License over doubts of the carrier's financial ability to meet obligations.
The carrier, based at Gothenburg Landvetter Airport, launched flights in December 2008 and has been operating one Airbus A320 and two Boeing 737 aircraft.
