Jan 12, 2012 (newstodate): In 2011, the growth in cargo volumes over the recent was slowing down considerably at Latvia's Riga Airport.
A total of 12,554 tonnes of cargo was handled at the airport, an increase by only three percent, y-o-y.
In 2010 volumes were 12,248 tonnes, increasing by 29.9 percent against 2009 where a total of 9,431 tonnes were handled, an increase by 23 percent, y-o-y.
Despite a turbulent year of operations, the Latvian carrier airBaltic was still the undisputed No 1 in volumes at Riga Airport, with 7,811 tonnes of cargo.
No 2 was EAT operating for integrators, with 1,286 tonnes.
