Jan 30, 2012 (newstodate): Norway's Oslo Gardermoen Airport saw a healthy growth in cargo volumes in 2011.
A total of 97,801 tonnes of cargo was handled at the airport, which was an increase by 14.1 percent, y-o-y.
International cargo, 67,015 tonnes, was up 19.8 percent, while domestic cargo volumes grew modestly by 3.3 percent, y-o-y, to 30,786 tonnes.
The cargo volumes in 2011 were the largest in 10 years, especially driven by a significant growth in international cargo, boosted in 2011 by newcomer since October 5, 2011, Qatar Airways that has immediately risen to a prime position on the country's IATA export airfreight Top-10 list.
Another staunch provider of cargo uplift at Oslo Gardermoen Airport is Korean Air Cargo, offering thrice-weekly maindeck capacity from Norway to Seoul.
