Jan 25, 2012 (newstodate): Since its first flight from Doha to Oslo on October 5, 2011, Qatar Airways has firmed up its position in Norway's IATA export airfreight market.
In December 2012, the carrier was ranked second after Korean Air Cargo on the country's IATA Top-10 list with a market share at 12.5 percent and lifting a total of 1,013 tonnes of export cargo from Norway into its network via Doha, in the Gulf region.
In October and November 2011, the carrier's position was #1 with market shares at 13.9 and 14.1 percent, respectively.
Prior to the launch of direct services at Oslo Gardermoen Airport, Qatar Airways was ranked #4, with a market share at 8.4 percent and 877 tonnes of export cargo out of Norway.
Qatar Airways now competes closely with Korean Air Cargo that operates full-freighter services at Oslo Gardermoen Airport, ranked as #2 in September, October and November 2011.
