Jan 05, 2012 (newstodate): On December 22, 2011, Poland's SprintAir added yet another SAAB aircraft to its already large fleet of this aircraft type.
The aircraft transaction was managed by Skyworld Aviation, and the SAAB 340QC is SprintAir's 13th SAAB 340, which makes the airline the second largest operator of the type in Europe.
The aircraft was purchased from Sverigeflyg Leasing of Sweden and is capable of carrying 34 passengers or operating in full cargo configuration enabling the aircraft to be flown on passenger and cargo routes with Sprint Airs existing client base which include Polish Post and LOT.
Primarily a cargo operator, SprintAir received its first two SAAB 340 aircraft in 2005 and is now also expanding into the passenger market with one passenger aircraft and 12 QC aircraft.
SprintAir, based at Warsaw Chopin Airport, started freight and mail flights in April 2004, with three Let L-410 aircraft.
