Jan 31, 2012 (newstodate): Montenegro's airfreight volumes dipped drastically in 2011.
Together, the country's two international airports at Podgorica and Tivat handled 1,074 tonnes against 2,159 tonnes in 2010, a decline by 50.2 percent, y-o-y.
In December 2011, the combined volumes of air cargo at the two airports were down even more - dropping 80.9 percent, reportedly due to unusually strong airfreight imports in 2010.
Passenger flows through the two airports also grew only modestly by 4.4 percent, y-o-y, to 1,258,835 in 2011, and again December 2011 proved especially disappointing with a decline in passenger volumes by 27.1 percent, y-o-y.
