Jan 06, 2012 (newstodate): The Hungarian low-cost carrier WIZZ Air has gained a firm foothold on the Lithuanian market.
The carrier will base a second Airbus A320 aircraft at Vilnius Airport from May 2012 to facilitate the opening of new routes Bergen, Oslo, Paris, and Liverpool.
Vilnius was one of three new WIZZ Air hubs opened in 2011, the other being Belgrade and Tigu Mures.
Starting from April 17, 2010, WIZZ Air has based one A320 aircraft at Vilnius Airport and is now offering 20 weekly rotations between Vilnius and Cork, London, Doncaster-Sheffield, Eindhoven, Barcelona, Rome, Milan and Stockholm, with plans to increase frequencies on flights to London and Eindhoven also from May 2012.
