Jan 31, 2012 (newstodate): Hungary is faced with the harsh reality of its national carrier Malev going bankrupt.
Already deep in financial troubles with a huge debt pile and red operational figures, the carrier is now also faced with the EU decision to hand back illegal cash support from the state, accruing to several hundred millions of euros received during 2007-10.
The carrier has thus run dry of cask, and the management will now have to come up with a feasible rescue plan before the end of this week in order to avoid the final count-down.
