Jan 24, 2012 (newstodate): Denmark has now registered its first airfreight Known Consignor under the new EU program, part of the global efforts to combat terrorism.
The Danish provider of maritime safety equipment to the global marketplace, VIKING Life-Saving Equipment has cooperated closely with the Danish authority Trafikstyrelsen to fulfill all requirements allowing it to bypass screening of shipments.
VIKING generates some 400 airfreight shipments per month, and with the certification as Known Consignor all paper and handling procedures are now in place to secure fast forwarding of the company's shipments all along the line of logistics.
The new EU requirements take full effect from April 29, 2013, after which date companies that have not been certified will have all shipments screened for transportation.
