Jan 24, 2012 (newstodate): Expect for two airlines, all other IATA carriers saw their export volumes down in the Finnish market in December 2011, compared to December 2010.
The two exceptions were Singapore Airlines Cargo, #4 on the top-10 list, that grew its volumes by 51 percent, y-o-y, to 94 tonnes, and Turkish Airlines that increased by 179 percent to 77 tonnes - #8 on the list.
This corresponded, however, only to market shares at 3.2 and 2.6 percent, respectively.
Unchallenged as dominating the Finnish IATA export market with a share in December by 47.6 percent, Finnair Cargo dropped by 9.6 percent to 1,397 tonnes, while Lufthansa Cargo came second in the market with 373 tonnes - down 17.7 percent in volumes, and holding 12.7 percent of the market.
Third on the list in December 2011 came KLM Cargo, down 45.4 percent, y-o-y, to 212 tonnes, followed by Cargolux with 177 tonnes, down 9.5 percent, with market shares at 7.2 and six percent, respectively.
The total IATA export airfreight market in Finland was down 18.6 percent, y-o-y, to 2,935 tonnes in December 2011.
