Jan 12, 2012 (newstodate): Through its PR agency in Denmark, Help PR _ Kommunikation, Emirates SkyCargo is today spreading the happy tidings of a record position in export airfreight from Copenhagen Airport.
-After only few months of operation at Copenhagen Airport, Emirates topped the IATA's list of airlines as to cargo volumes in October 2011, thanks to the export of a few exceptionally large shipments, reaching a total of 1,410 tonnes and a 20 percent market share, the release says.
What is not noted by the release is that in the following month's statistics, November 2011, Emirates fell back to the position as No 8 on the same list after decreasing 16.6 percent, y-o-y, to a more moderate load of 280 tonnes corresponding to 4.8 percent of the market.
And in September 2011, Emirates was No 9 on the list with 240 tonnes after decreasing 26,4 percent, y-o-y, holding a market share of 3.9 percent.
It may be relevant to cite a famous Danish humorist who said: Statistics are like an old street lamp; it does not provide much light - but it's a nice thing to lean against....
