Jan 30, 2012 (newstodate): Slovakia's Bratislava Airport ended the year 2011 with a 16 percent growth in cargo volumes, compared to 2010.
A total of 20,530 tonnes of cargo was handled at the airport, with cargo on international scheduled services growing even faster by 38 percent, y-o-y.
Contributing significantly to the strong growth in international cargo was DHL's route from Brussels to Bratislava, served with Boeing 737-300F, on top of the company's regular service on the route route from Leipzig via Bratislava to Sofia, in Bulgaria, served with Boeing 757-200F aircraft.
