Jan 09, 2012 (newstodate): The Danish company and ACMI provider DAT Group has set up its second company in Lithuania.
Named DAT Lite, the new company will focus on the market for corporate aviation, especially in the oil and gas industries, offering aircraft wet-lease services for passenger transport.
DAT is already present in the Lithuanian market with its company DOT, operating ATR aircraft.
DAT Lite, to be based at Vilnius Airport, will build a fleet of smaller Beechcraft aircraft, aiming at a fleet of three aircraft in 2012.
-We are now in the process of obtaining our AOC with the Lithuanian authorities, and we are also now registering the first Beechcraft 300 King Air aircraft that will serve as the DAT Group's corporate aircraft, says Albertas Pocevicius, DAT Lite general manager and 15 percent owner of the company.
-In the plans is the acquisition of another two Beechcraft 300 aircraft in 2012, and we expect to be entering business by the end of this year's first quarter, says Mr Posevicius.
Until the end of 2011, Albertas Posevicius served as DOT General manager - a position now taken over by Evaldas Petkus.
