Sep 28, 2011 (newstodate): Somon Air, Tajikistan's first private airline, has taken delivery of its first ex-factory Boeing 737-900ER aircraft.
In May 2010, the carrier, based at Dushanbe Airport, placed orders for delivery of two Boeing 737-900 aircraft that will become the first company-owned aircraft.

The carrier performed its first commercial flight on February 5, 2008, opening up with services to Moscow and later, on July 29, 2009, adding services to Frankfurt, Germany, as its first flight into Europe, where Aircargonet International is serving Somon Air as its GSSA.
