Sep 05, 2011 (newstodate): Summer holidays caused the seasonal downturn of cargo volumes in the Swedish market, with IATA reporting a total of 9,513 tonnes in July.
Lufthansa Cargo maintained its firm grip on the No 1 position in the Swedish market as to export cargo, with 1,586 tonnes in July.
KLM Cargo came 2nd with 937 tonnes, followed by Finnair Cargo with 864 tonnes.
Martinair aggregated 694 tonnes of export cargo, while Emirates managed to snatch the position as No 5 in the market with 662 tonnes.
SAS Cargo was thus relegated to the position as No 6 in the Swedish market, with 622 tonnes of export cargo.
Compared to July 2010, SAS Cargo was down 62.3 percent in volumes in July 2011, while the top-5 carriers all gained in volumes - most notably Finnair Cargo that increased its volumes by 20 percent, y-o-y.
