Sep 21, 2011 (newstodate): Avianova, the Russian low-cost carrier set up in January, 2009, by the Russian investment group, A1 Group, has lost two of its Airbus A320 aircraft.
After a lengthy dispute over debts incurred by the carrier, the lessor of the aircraft, ILFC has taken possession of the aircraft, leaving the carrier with a full flight program - but only four Airbus A320 left.
In immediate response to the situation, Avianova has been forced to cancel a few flights but expects to operate the full program during the winter season, looking for other aircraft to fill the void.
