Sep 30, 2011 (newstodate): The new Slovak carrier under formation, Slovakian Airlines has revealed fresh details of its plans for the coming network.
Pending the granting of its Slovak AOC by December 2011, the carrier aims at setting up flights from Bratislava to airports in the UK, Italy, Spain and Russia as its first destinations.
The carrier finds these regions under-served from Central Europe and will thus also benefit from less hard competition in its formative stages.
Plans are eventually to operate a fleet comprising three Boeing 737-500 aircraft, and the first, formerly operated by CSA, has already been delivered in Bratislava on a lease contract with Armavia.
The carrier is being set up by Slovak businessman Arnold Medzihradskeho and Mikhail Bagdasarov, who is also the owner of the Armenian carrier Armavia.
