Sep 20, 2011 (newstodate): The Lithuanian ground handling provider with HQ at Vilnius Airport, Baltic Ground Services is continuing to firm up its grip on the Polish market.
Baltic Ground Services holds a license for ground handling operations at six major airports in Poland - Warsaw, Krakow, Wroclaw, Gdansk, Poznan, and Katowice.
-Since February 5, 2011, we have been offering a full handling package at Warsaw Airport, and on May 5, 2011, we launched fueling services at Krakow and Katowice, in all three cases with Lithuania's Small Planet Airlines as our launch customer, says Vitalis Dudys, Baltic Ground Services Head of Sales and Marketing Department.
-The next moves will be to add fueling operations also at Gdansk, Poznan and Wroclaw, and eventually we will introduce also ground handling at all of the six Polish stations.
-Our latest contract was signed with Norwegian concerning fueling of their aircraft at Krakow where the carrier offers 14 weekly flights to Norway and Denmark.
-Serving airBaltic, Wizz Air and AeroSvit, our single largest station in Poland is of course Warsaw Frederic Chopin International Airport where we handled 409 flights and 98,400 passengers in June 2011 - a volume rising all through the year, says Mr Dudys.
Plans were also to open ground handling business at Italy's Rome and Milan, but these opening have been postponed till a later day.
-We are fully occupied with consolidating our presence in the Polish market, says Mr Dudys.
