Sep 08, 2011 (newstodate): July 2011 was not exactly a month of strong performance for SAS Cargo in its Scandinavian home market.
Even allowing for the generally slack summer season, the company's performance, measured by export volumes, was significantly lower than in July last year.
The Swedish market remained SAS Cargo's largest in Scandinavia, generating 622 tonnes of export cargo.
But volumes in July 2011 were down 62.3 percent, y-o-y, with SAS Cargo's market share standing at 6.5 percent, placing the company as #6 on the list of IATA carriers in Sweden.
The Danish market came second in volumes, with SAS Cargo totaling 555 tonnes, down 32.4 percent, y-o-y, and corresponding to 8.9 percent in market share.
This placed SAS Cargo as #4 on the list.
In Norway, SAS Cargo generated 413 tonnes of export cargo, down 33.6 percent, y-o-y, and corresponding to 5.6 percent in market share.
This ranked SAS Cargo as #7 on IATA's list in Norway.
Finally Finland in the Nordic region, where SAS Cargo generated 112 tonnes of export cargo, corresponding to 3.1 percent of the market after dropping 28 percent, y-o-y, in volumes.
With this performance, SAS Cargo was ranked #5 in the Finish market.
