Sep 08, 2011 (newstodate): Pending fresh cargo statistics from Sweden's Stockholm Arlanda Airport, the latest signals were positive in 2011 as to cargo volumes.
During the first half of the year, a total of 79,661 tonnes of cargo and mail was handled at the airport, an increase by six percent, y-o-y.
Totals includes 32,469 tonnes of import shipments, up 6.8 percent, y-o-y, and 47,191 tonnes of exports shipments, an increase by 5.9 percent compared to last year.
Expectations are, however, that the growth rate will slide in 2011 due to the general depression in world economies.
