Sep 28, 2011 (newstodate): Qatar Airways is now in the final approach to getting on-line with Norway as the last Scandinavian market.
From October 5, 2011, Qatar Airways will provide five weekly rotations between Oslo and Doha, offering 15-16 tonnes of cargo capacity to the airfreight market.
This will further boost the carrier's position in the Norwegian market that is already seeing the carrier as #4 on IATA's Top-10 list of export cargo carriers in Norway, with 10.9 percent of the market in August, corresponding to 793 tonnes of export shipments.
Norwegian exports by Qatar Airways are currently trucked into either Stockholm Arlanda Airport or Copenhagen Airport where the carrier is already online with daily services.
