Sep 08, 2011 (newstodate): Finnair Cargo reports growth by 15 percent, y-o-y, in cargo volumes on passenger and freighter aircraft in August 2011.
In total the company carrier 9,685 tonnes of cargo on Finnair's passenger flights, and 3,132 tonnes on freighter operations, up 3.3 and 83.6 percent, y-o-y, respectively.
On the belly cargo side, the company saw Asian volumes up 8.3 percent to 7,092, while volumes on all other markets were down in August, including Europe that fell by 9.6 percent to 1,752 tonnes.
The company's total volumes during the first eight months of 2011 landed at 94,473 tonnes, an increase by 22.2 percent, y-o-y.
Volumes through the period in passenger cargo compartments were 75,111 tonnes, up 8.1 percent, while freighters aggregated 19,147 tonnes, an increase by 178.7 percent, y-o-y.
