Sep 26, 2011 (newstodate): Another Balkan carrier, Slovenia's Star Alliance member airline Adria Airways is now on a sales course.
Expectations are that a tender for ownership of the carrier will be opened in early 2012 after a thorough restructuring of the airline that was only recently bailed out by the state after building up a huge debts pile.
Part of the restructuring efforts include a stop of services on several routes including flights from Ljubljana to Paris, London and Istanbul, and flights from Pristina to Brussels, Paris, Copenhagen and Dusseldorf, while this has still not been officially confirmed.
Elsewhere in the Balkan region, Serbia's JAT is again amidst an obviously result-less privatization tender, and Montenegro Airlines is also in a tender process.
