Sep 15, 2011 (newstodate): Another Russian carrier is going out of business from October 1, 2011 - Kavminvodyavia.
The airline, based at Mineralnye Vody, was a member of the AiRUnion airline alliance that broke in December 2008 and was placed, along with other members of the collapsed alliance, under the state corporation Rostechnology, but its assets are now to be transferred to Aeroflot.
As Aeroflot has decided that its coming base in the Caucasus will be set up by Donavia, the potential role for Kavminvodyavia has come to naught, and all traffic will cease by the last day of this month.
In the fleet of the carrier are two TU-204 and eight TU-154 aircraft.
