Aug 10, 2011 (newstodate): The Ukrainian carrier Aerosvit is to increase frequencies on its routes to Scandinavia.
Effective from the start of the coming winter schedule, Aerosvit will operate twice daily on its route from Kiev Borispol Airport to Copenhagen Airport and Stockholm Arlanda Airport, respectively, up from the current 10 weekly rotations on each route.
The carrier has seen its passenger volumes on the routes growing almost 10 percent over the last year and is now alone on the routes.
Competition is, however, seen in the market for flights between Scandinavia and Ukraine as WIZZ Air operates on the route from Kiev Zhulyany to Stockholm Skavsta and Oslo Sandefjord/Torp.
On a Nordic scale, Finnair and Ukraine International Airlines compete on the route Kiev Borispol and Helsinki Vantaa Airport.
