Aug 09, 2011 (newstodate): Swedish airport Orebro is looking ahead to the launch of services by DHL Express, starting from September 19, 2011.
Orebro will become the fourth Swedish gateway for DHL as the company extends the existing Boeing 737 freighter flight from Brussels to Copenhagen into Orebro and returning from Orebro to Brussels via Copenhagen.
DHL Express has built new facilities at Orebro Airport, and as they become operational the full setup will be in place well ahead of the coming Christmas peak.
-We are most happy to DHL returning as our latest new scheduled cargo operator at Orebro Airport where TNT is also on-line with five weekly BAe 146 operations, says Hakan Nilsson, Orebro Airport cargo manager.
-So far into 2011 we have seen much ad-hoc cargo traffic, with some 50 relief freighter operations before summer. Last we the airport handled about 25,000 tonnes of cargo, and with the return by DHL Express I would expect this year's total to increase, says Mr Nilsson.
