Aug 16, 2011 (newstodate): Aeroflot is poised to take delivery of its second Superjet 100 aircraft later this week.
Aeroflot received its first Superjet 100 aircraft on June 16, 2011, and is scheduled to receive a total of 10 Superjet 100 aircraft in 2011, 12 in 2012 and eight in 2013.
The first commercial operator of the new aircraft, Armavia, received its first aircraft on April 27, 2011, and will receive its second aircraft ordered later in 2011.
Sukhoi will manufacture 14 Superjet 100 aircraft in 2011 and 25 in 2012, and intends to sell 35 percent of the production to operators in the United States, 25 percent to European customers, 10 percent to Latin America, and finally seven percent to operators in Russia and China.
So far the Superjet 100 has landed contracts for delivery of a total of 204 aircraft in addition to 92 commitments.
