Aug 19, 2011 (newstodate): Russia will be a major market for manufacturers of aircraft.
According to the country's ministry of transportation, Russia will need up to 1,800 new aircraft till 2025, most of which will be imported western-built aircraft.
With this prognosis, Russian demands are above the estimated by Boeing that has foreseen Russia and the CIS to require some 1,080 new aircraft till 2030.
The ministry also expects Russia to order up to 180 Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft.
