Aug 04, 2011 (newstodate): Estonian Air is seeing growing demand in the market for travel between Russia and Estonia.
During January-July 2011, the carrier has seen passenger figures on its route between Tallinn and Moscow up by 59 percent, y-o-y, also boosted by the recent introduction of a further two rotations, to a total of six weekly flights, thanks to the delivery of new Bombardier CRJ900 aircraft from this spring.
After years of negotiations, Estonian Air was finally permitted also to open flights from Tallinn to St Petersburg from July 27, 2009, with SAAB 340 aircraft four times weekly.
Results on this route have also proved very positive, and the airline is now preparing to increase frequency on the route to nine weekly rotations from September 5, 2011, using CRJ900 and Boeing 737 aircraft.
