Aug 09, 2011 (newstodate): The positive trend in cargo volumes in 2011 continued in July at Norway's Oslo Gardermoen Airport.
A total of 7,507 tonnes of cargo was handled at Oslo Gardermoen, an increase by 11.1 percent, y-o-y.
International cargo volumes were up 16.1 percent to 5,327 tonnes, while domestic cargo stayed almost unchanged at 2,181 tonnes - growing only 0.5 percent.
A total of 53,751 tonnes of cargo has thus been handled at the airport during January-July 2011, up 13.3 percent, y-o-y.
Korean Air Cargo is online at the airport with three weekly freighter rotations, and much cargo is also lifted out of Oslo by Thai Airways International as well as on flights to USA by Continental and SAS.
Among off-line carriers relying on air feeder services to and from the Norwegian market is Finnair that lifts about 100 tonnes of Norwegian salmon per week from Helsinki to Asian destinations.
