Aug 30, 2011 (newstodate): The Czech company PDW-group is airing plans for setting up a new airline and other aviation businesses in Belarus.
The company will invest in establishing a new airline at Vitebsk, close to the Russian border, initially planning for the acquisition of three or four Czech-manufactured L-410 aircraft targeting the business aviation sector as well as the airfreight markets.
Also included in the plans is the construction of a L-410 aircraft maintenance center to serve especially operators in the Russian, CIS and Baltic markets.
Further down the line, the company will also consider adding a leasing company focusing on L-410 and ATR aircraft, as well as a center for upgrading of IL-76 freighter aircraft.
The Czech investor will thus establish five companies in Vitebsk, including the airline, a business aviation service company, a fueling unit, an airport service company, as well as a new logistics center close to Vitebsk Airport.
