Aug 04, 2011 (newstodate): AOG costs are excessive costs to an airline, so response time is a crucial issue, with strong regional differences. In Lithuania, a new web-based service has been set up to tackle the issue.
-According to the latest findings, smaller airlines dealing with AOG situations are losing more than USD20,000 per day. Although in the Western countries AOG situations are usually solved within 24 hours, the cost of a single AOG solution may amount to USD 150,000 an hour, says Dmitry Voskrosensky, Locatory.com VP Business Development.
-In the Russian market, the price of solving AOG situations is several times higher, compared to the global average. In constrast, AOG situations in China are solved incomparably faster the final solution is usually achieved within 24 hours.
-In order to at least partially eliminate the problem, we have set up a global internet platform from June 17, 2011, allowing users to employ direct messaging tools and send out several AOG solution requests for multiple service providers at a time, says Mr Voskrosensky.
Part of Lithuania's AVIA Group, Locatory.com started its activity on December 7, 2010, as a global aviation spare parts platform dedicated to the aviation industry.
