Aug 29, 2011 (newstodate): Within the first half of September Copterline will launch flights on its route between Helsinki, in Finland, and Tallinn, Estonia, served by AugustaWestland AW139 helicopters with the capacity to carry up to 15 passengers.
-In the initial phase we will be offering 10 rotations per day on the route, from Monday to Friday, says Kari Ljungberg, Copterline CEO.
-We are operating only one helicopter at this stage, but due to the short flying time, 18 minutes, between the two destinations the aircraft will accumulate only some 25 flying hours per week. The operation will be supported by implementation of HUMS, health and usage monitoring systems, which will proactively monitor the condition of specific systems modules by indicators, and these modules will rotate with one module every second weekend.
-Also we have built up a comprehensive store of spare parts and components allowing for fast action to correct malfunctions, and the operation is supported closely by the aircraft manufacturer as well, says Mr Ljungberg.
