Aug 22, 2011 (newstodate): Qatar Airways has postponed the launch of services on its new routes from Doha to Baku, Azerbaijan, and Tbilisi, Georgia, respectively.
Originally slated for start by November 30, 2011, the launch date has now been set to February 1, 2012, instead.
The airline cites shortage of aircraft as the reason for the postponements
Over the first seven months in 2011, Qatar Airways has added 10 new routes to its global network, including Bucharest, Budapest, Brussels, Stuttgart, Aleppo, Shiraz, Venice, Montreal, Medina and Kolkata.
By the end of 2011, Qatar Airways will expand its services to the Sofia from September 14, adding Oslo from October 5, Entebbe from November 2, and earlier planning to round off this year's expansions with the routes to Baku and Tbilisi from November 30.
